Only 10 hours to Puerto Escondido... is that all?!

So we're sitting in a very empty hostel, its only 9pm or just after, but feels like the early hours, so tired. The last thing we feel like doing is getting on a bus in 2 hours, for 10 hours... boo! But we know we'll love it when we get there.

We've just been laying on 2 reclining sun loungers looking up at the stars
having the most random conversation about what pastries we like and don't like, and whether apple turnovers should have cream in or not!?!, . Its so funny cos even though we're up high in the hills overlooking Oaxaca's bright lights, we can still hear the dogs which seems to be a constant background noise here... all night... and then when they stop, just as you breathe a sigh of relief... the cockerel starts...! Although the hostel is fantastic, the people are lovely (family run, and you are constantly tripping over the cutest little kids) and its in a great location, a hammock outside each little wooden hut... i'm leaving with mixed feelings probably due to the 8 legged friends we've met here.

Today, we went into Oaxaca for the afternoon, went to the markets, had some lunch, sat in a cafe in the square. So many bright and interesting things to look at - most of the great architecture is tied up in the churches, but everytime you look up, you see a beautiful old building that warrants a photo which you know will never convey how amazing it looks. For example, today, I took a picture of a coffee shop on a corner of a street- it was a beautiful red which contrasted against the bright blue sky perfectly... i then reminded myself I was taking a picture of a coffee shop... but thats how lovely the towns are here... around every corner are a thousand photos waiting to be taken.

More pics soon, taxi will be here any minute.

Night night xx
